• Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin CANCELLED For WrestleMania 35, New Plan Revealed

As seen on this week’s episode of RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle announced that he’s going to face Baron Corbin in his Farewell match at WrestleMania 35.

According to The Dirty Sheets, this match is NOT going to take place anymore as it has been cancelled. However, the fans weren’t swerved as this was indeed the plan for Angle’s retirement match at WrestleMania 35.

The plan was changed as soon as it was announced on RAW. WWE officials genuinely thought the fans would accept a match between Angle & Corbin because they thought it made storyline sense.

Angle & Corbin have been practising their match at WWE Live Events and Angle told WWE officials that he hasn’t been happy with those matches.

Angle’s family was at RAW this week and they were unhappy with the match. Angle was openly unhappy with this match as well.

All these negative responses towards this retirement match resulted in WWE officials changing their minds and nixing plans for this match. Corbin was originally expected to win this match.

As soon as Angle came backstage on RAW after this announcement, Vince McMahon noted that this match won’t be happening and that they’re going to “fix this”.

The fix began immediately as commentators were told to bury this match during RAW and were told to mention the negativity surrounding this match on Social Media.

With that being said, WWE officials now want to please the fans by booking Kurt Angle vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 35.

Cena’s plan for WrestleMania 35 was for him to face Samoa Joe for the United States Championship. R-Truth was building this match by saying that Cena is his hero and Joe was burying Cena during interviews.

However, Joe is now going to face Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 35 (as announced on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live). WWE luckily had Mysterio pinning Joe on last week’s SmackDown as that would’ve led to a Title match between the two men on this week’s SmackDown, not at WrestleMania 35.

Joe was scheduled to successfully defend the US Title against Rey Mysterio this week and then successfully defend it against R-Truth on next week’s SmackDown. After defeating R-Truth, Joe would’ve continued his assault on Truth as this would’ve led to Cena making the save and setting up their WrestleMania 35 match.

Angle vs. Cena was NOT the plan all along. This decision was made solely based on the negative crowd reaction on RAW.
