Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Rusev and Sexyy Red.

• Rusev aka Miro’s time in AEW has come to an end, but speculation is growing about his next move—especially after CJ Perry (Lana) hinted at a potential reunion elsewhere.

After a fan noted on X that Miro and Andrade El Idolo’s last AEW match turned out to be their final one for the company, Perry responded:

“Thank God. One man is the Super Athlete & the other man is a flying cruiserweight who hits harder than a heavyweight! I can’t wait to see them fight again. Who do you think will win this time if I don’t help @ToBeMiro to win again my former ex-client @AndradeElIdolo.”

Her comment has sparked buzz among fans, as it seems to tease a rematch between Miro and Andrade outside AEW—potentially in WWE.

Andrade currently works in WWE on the SmackDown brand.

• Sexyy Red had the opportunity to become a full-time WWE wrestler but ultimately had to decline the offer.

After making several notable appearances on NXT in 2024, including hosting NXT Battleground, the St. Louis rapper was reportedly given the chance to train and compete as an in-ring performer.

As reported by Dazed Digital, WWE presented Red with a “permanent role as a wrestler,” but her packed schedule made it impossible for her to commit. “She actually got offered a permanent role as a wrestler in WWE, but couldn’t find the time to train properly so settled for a cameo instead,” the report stated.

Although she didn’t transition into full-time wrestling, Red remains a fan of WWE. She even drew a comparison between rapping and wrestling, noting that both require performers to embody larger-than-life characters while staying true to themselves.

“Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same, it’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right?” she said. “Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”
