• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (April 2, 2010) – Old School Wrestling Veteran Passed Away

On this day in 2010, we lost Old School Wrestling Veteran “Mortis” Chris Kanyon (Real name: Christopher Klucsarits) at the age of 40 due to suicide by antidepressant overdose.

After working as a Jobber for the World Wrestling Federation in 1994, he joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1995, where he formed the tag team “Men At work” with Mark Starr.

In 1997, he debuted a new gimmick called Mortis, where he was wearing an evil mask and was managed by James Vandenberg (aka Sinister Minister aka Father James Mitchell) and feuded with Glacier.

When Vince McMahon bought WCW in 2001, Kanyon was brought in and became a member of the WCW/ECW Alliance faction during the Invasion storyline, even becoming the WCW United States Champion and WWF World Tag Team Champion in the process.

He was released in early 2004 after not being used on TV for a while.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & † REST IN PEACE
