The legacy of Brian Adams, known to wrestling fans as Crush, is set to endure thanks to a significant move by his son, Royce Adams. Royce has confirmed that he has signed a posthumous WWE Legends contract on behalf of his late father, finally uniting Crush with his iconic Demolition tag team partners, Ax and Smash, under the WWE banner.
A Legacy Preserved: The Legends Contract
This momentous agreement ensures that Crush’s contributions to professional wrestling will be preserved and celebrated for years to come. WWE will now be able to utilize his likeness in merchandise, video games like the WWE 2K series, and various licensed content, keeping his memory alive for future generations of fans.
This move is a significant step in honoring the memory of Crush, and celebrating his impact on the wrestling world.
The Call from WWE: A Digital Age Discovery
Royce Adams shared the details of this development during an interview on “Power & Glory with Paul Roma, Mario Mancini and Emir.” He recounted the initial spark that ignited the process, saying, “I started seeing rumors and stuff online and all that. ‘Oh, yeah, Demolition legends Ax and Smash are on a Legends Deal.’ I’m like, that’s pretty cool. Then sure enough, I get a call.”
The call, as it turned out, was from WWE itself. “This guy tells me, ‘Yeah, I’m with the WWE. We’re trying to reach out to the family, the owners of Crush’s estate.’ I’m like, okay, yeah, this is Royce, his son,” Royce explained.
The process of locating Royce was surprisingly straightforward, a testament to the digital age. “He told me he looked at the obituary of Crush, found out he had kids, me included, and then he looked me up… He saw me on Facebook and was like, ‘Yeah, you were really easy to track down, actually,’” Royce recalled.
Family Agreement: Uniting Demolition’s Legacy
After consulting with his mother, the family readily agreed to the contract. “So anyway, yeah, he reached out to me and my mom, and we agreed to sign the posthumous contract, I guess you can call it, and yeah, so that’s how my dad is now a part of the whole Legends thing with the rest of Demolition,” Royce confirmed.
This agreement finally brings the entire legendary trio of Demolition together under the WWE umbrella, solidifying their place in wrestling history.
Crush’s Impact: A Formidable Force in Wrestling
Brian Adams, known for his impactful stints in both WWF and WCW, joined Demolition in 1990, completing the trio and solidifying their status as one of the most formidable tag teams in wrestling history.
His presence added a new dimension to Demolition, making them an even more dominant force in the tag team division.
Hall of Fame Advocacy: Fans’ Continued Push
