3. Rhea Ripley Defeating Charlotte Flair
Rhea Ripley defended her NXT Women’s Championship in the biggest match of her career, against Charlotte Flair on Night 2 of WrestleMania 36 this year. She became the first NXT wrestler to compete on the main-card of WrestleMania in a singles match.
As she was being pushed by the creative, most of the fans expected her to defeat Flair and retain the Title. However, Flair got a surprising win over her and became a 2-Time NXT Women’s Champion.
Ripley was reportedly set to retain the Title at WrestleMania, but WWE changed the plan at the last minute, booking Charlotte to defeat Ripley.
WWE officials thought putting the Title on Charlotte and bringing her to NXT would help in increasing TV viewership on Wednesday nights, but that hasn’t helped so far.
