Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Goldberg and John Cena.
• Location For Goldberg’s Retirement Match Revealed
Goldberg’s retirement match is in the works and could take place in a key location.
In an interview with My San Antonio, Goldberg said his final match will happen “in the south.” Sources told Fightful Select that the current plan is for the match to be held in Atlanta.
Goldberg has deep ties to the city, having played football for both the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons, and he lived there for many years.
In a strategic move, WWE is internally planning to hold Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 — the same date as AEW’s All In: Texas PPV.
Although nothing has been officially announced, and it’s unclear whether this event will feature Goldberg’s retirement match, his name is definitely being discussed for the event.
• Partners & Opponents For John Cena’s Rumored 6-Man Tag Match At Money In The Bank
As we have noted before, a 6-man tag team match was pitched in WWE for John Cena at Money In The Bank 2025 on June 7, that would also involve Travis Scott.
In an update from PWInsider, the pitched match is Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena teaming up with Travis and Logan Paul to take on the team of Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso.
Rhodes hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since his loss at WrestleMania 41, and neither has Scott.
Jey will defend the World Title against Logan on Saturday Night’s Main Event. Also on Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cena will face R-Truth in a non-title match.
Jimmy is currently a part of the mid-card scene of SmackDown, and recently failed to qualify for the Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.
