• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 16, 2018) – Old School WrestleMania Celebrity Passed Away
On this day in 2018, we lost Old School WWF WrestleMania Celebrity “The Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin at the age of 76 due to pancreatic cancer.
At WrestleMania III on March 29, 1987, she sang “America the Beautiful” in front of a LIVE audience of 93,173 people in the Pontiac Silverdome and millions watching at home.
20 years later, Vince brought her back to do it one more time at WrestleMania 23, where she ended up singing the song in front of 80,103 people at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

• Major RAW Name Set To Take A Lengthy Time Off Soon
Current RAW Superstar Seth Rollins is scheduled to take a lengthy time off after the next WWE Draft, according to The Dirty Sheets.
The next Draft is scheduled to take place in October and his current storyline with the Mysterios will result in him getting written off WWE programming. Rollins’ heel character has come out on top thus far, now it’s time for a big babyface pay-off to counter.
Rollins requested time off months ago, and WWE has absolutely no problem in giving him that, as Rollins has been on TV consistently since November 2012 (apart from his 7 month injury lay-off, from November 2015 to May 2016).
Becky Lynch is expected to give birth to their child in December, which is most probably the reason Rollins has asked for time off.
We can expect Rollins to be off for a few months and then return in-time for WrestleMania 37.
