• Major Timing Issues On Last Night’s RAW
CM Punk opened WWE RAW to celebrate his World Heavyweight Championship victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He thanked the fans and his wife, AJ Lee, for their support, saying he returned to WWE to make money and win titles. The Best In The World declared he wants to be a fighting champion and named several stars he hopes to face in the future.
Logan Paul made his return during the segment, but Punk immediately refused to face him. Moments later, Paul Heyman interrupted with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, stating that The Vision should be first in line for a title shot.
The confrontation quickly turned physical as Breakker clashed with Punk and Logan. When The Vision attacked Punk, Logan hesitated before jumping in to help. Reed hit Paul with a Tsunami, but Punk recovered and cleared the ring with a steel chair.
The opening segment ran for nearly half an hour, making it one of the longest in recent memory.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, the segment actually went around 10 minutes longer than planned, forcing WWE to adjust the rest of the show’s timing to make up for the overrun.
• Sad News For Fans Looking Forward To Royal Rumble 2026
WWE will host the Royal Rumble 2026 Premium Live Event outside of North America for the first time, heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the first of the company’s big four events of next year.
Royal Rumble matches are known for their surprise element, including returns of injured stars and wrestlers who left the company, debuts of new talent, call-ups from NXT, or others who have been away for various reasons.
However, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reports that Royal Rumble 2026 won’t feature any surprises. With the event taking place in Saudi Arabia, it would be extremely difficult for WWE to keep unexpected appearances under wraps, including managing travel and logistics for returning talent.
Saturday Night’s Main Event and SmackDown airing the week before in Canada will likely feature any returning or debuting talent to set up a potential role for them at the Royal Rumble.
