WWE Hall Of Famer and arguably the greatest pro wrestling commentator of all time, Jim Ross, has been with AEW since day one. He has had his fair share of ups and downs in the promotion.

Besides working on Dynamite for years, JR was also set to be a part of the AEW Collision commentary team this year. Unfortunately, he got hurt before the debut episode of the show, but still managed to commentate on it, which ended up negatively affecting his performance.

AEW has still managed to provide great commentary to the fans during JR’s absence.

As far as JR’s status with the company is concerned, the Wrestling Observer reports that his AEW contract is set to expire in 2 months.

It was noted that JR is hoping to be back by AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in the UK, but that’s just a “goal” and nothing is confirmed yet.

He has a radiation burn that he has to make sure doesn’t get infected and has been dealing with crippling sciatica, which left him bedridden a couple of weeks ago.

Fortunately, he’s said to be feeling better due to chiropractic treatments.

It’s unknown if JR would want to re-sign with AEW while going through so many health issues or if Tony Khan would want to offer him a new contract.

Good Ol’ JR turned 71 this year.
