Major Update On The Rock’s Return To WWE

The Rock WrestleMania 37

• Major Update On When The Rock Is Planning To Return To WWE

The Rock’s last match took place in 2016, when he defeated Erick Rowan in 6 seconds in an impromptu match at WrestleMania 32.

His last “proper” match took place in 2013, where he was defeated by John Cena in a WWE Championship main event match at WrestleMania 29.

With Roman Reigns’ ongoing “Tribal Chief” storyline, fans want him to face The Rock at WrestleMania 37, as it will be a very fitting storyline to find out who’s the real “Tribal Chief” of the Samoan Dynasty.

However, it’s not going to happen in 2021.

In a major update from the Wrestling Observer, The Rock has told WWE officials that he’d be willing to face Reigns in 2022 at WrestleMania 38, which would be a month or two before The Rock’s 50th birthday.

The Rock planning his return this early makes sense, as he needs to make sure he’s not filming a movie during the WrestleMania 38 season, as a movie’s production will suffer if Rock gets injured in WWE (which has happened in the past).
