• Malakai Black Released From AEW
At the AEW All Out 2022 pay-per-view, Sting, Darby Allin & Miro defeated The House Of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King).
After the match, Malakai blew a kiss to the fans while being on the stage and took a bow. Buddy & Brody then hugged him. This wasn’t shown on camera.
Raj Giri recently reported that Malakai requested his release from the company:
“I heard an AEW star requested their release, and follow up sources indicate it was Malakai Black.
He reportedly has repeatedly shown concerns about his mental health due to personal life and demoralization due to the booking and handling of his character.”
In an update on this situation, Fightful Select is reporting that Malakai has been granted his release from the company:
“Talent are of the belief that there are heavy restrictions on Black, and there may be more to the agreement, including conditions that would prevent him from wrestling elsewhere any time soon.
Black withdrew from a September 9 indy show in Ohio, according to PWInsider. AEW sources told us that the door isn’t closed on a potential return for Black as far as they’ve heard.”
