Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, recently accused Vince McMahon of speaking disrespectfully to her during her time with the company.

Mone, along with Naomi, left WWE in 2022 over creative differences with McMahon while they held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, leading to their indefinite suspension from SmackDown.

In an interview on The Breakfast Club, Mone explained her departure, citing personal issues with McMahon, particularly how he communicated with her.

She shared that his tone contributed to her decision to leave WWE, following a moment of clarity where she felt the need to prioritize her well-being.

“I left for many different reasons. A lot of personal stuff happened with myself and the Chairman at the time. I didn’t like how he talked to me and how I was talked down to. I was like, ‘It’s time to listen to your soul and your heart.’ There was a light that came to me and I left WWE. A guide told me.”

Mone also mentioned that while she wasn’t aware of McMahon’s legal issues, his treatment of her reaffirmed her decision to step away and focus on a better future for herself.

“I’m not the lawyer. I don’t know. Yeah, a little crazy. That day he talked to me a little crazy. It was enough for my source of light to come into my body and go, ‘If you stay, that’s not okay. This is for the rest of your life. What are you going to teach your kids? What are you going to teach people?’ If you’re feeling like this from words, after being here for ten years, you have to stand up for yourself.’ That’s what I did.”

Currently, Mone is focused on her reigns as TBS Champion and NJPW Women’s STRONG Champion, and says McMahon is no longer part of her life.
