• Mick Foley On Help Required To Enter The 1998 Royal Rumble 3 Times

WWF Legend Mick Foley is the only wrestler in history who entered a Royal Rumble match three times on the same night, which he did using all 3 of his famous gimmicks: Mankind, Cactus Jack & Dude Love.

Cactus Jack entered first as entrant #1 and lasted 9 minutes & 21 seconds, before he was eliminated by his tag team partner Chainsaw Charlie.

Then Mankind entered as #16, but was eliminated by The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust after only 2 minutes & 7 seconds, before Dude Love entered as #28, but was thrown out by Nation of Domination leader Faarooq after 7 minutes & 53 seconds.

On a recent episode of his weekly ‘Foley Is Pod’ podcast, the former 3-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion revealed how he managed to switch gear between entering with his different characters.

Here’s what Foley had to say:

“There’d be a team of people working on me. I’d come back and there’d be people — I’d probably have the one boot going on [while someone was working on the other], and even when it came time to put on the other boot, we had someone moving here and here.

I have shoes to unlace. I was a 17-and-a-half-inch, man. I wore all three characters at the boots that went up almost to the knees. I think Mankind’s are probably 15, Cactus went way up there. If I had to change one thing, it would’ve been Velcro all the way around. I would’ve invested in Velcro for all three of those pairs of boots.”
