Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, involving Mickie James and Kris Statlander.
• Mickie James made a surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood 2024, and she later admitted that she missed the company and its fans.
The six-time Women’s Champion left WWE in 2021 and spent the last few years in TNA. At Bad Blood, she was seen in the VIP suite alongside other wrestling legends such as Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, X-Pac, DDP, and Jey Uso. Later, she was spotted in the audience with Scott Steiner and DDP, visibly happy to be back.
After the event, James took to Twitter, sharing her feelings about her return:
“Ps… I’ve missed you too ♥️ @WWE #WWEBadBlood #HardcoreCountry”
This marked her first WWE appearance since the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, and fans were excited to see her again. It remains unclear whether James will return to WWE in a more permanent role.

• Kris Statlander’s partnership with Stokely Hathaway appears to have ended, signaling a major shift in her AEW character. On AEW Collision, Statlander announced she was going solo but was soon confronted by TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone and Kamille.
According to Fightful Select, Statlander is now in line for a title shot against Mone, which suggests a transition back to a babyface role after a heel run.
Hathaway, meanwhile, was seen watching a match involving Private Party on AEW Dynamite, hinting at a possible new partnership. Statlander had been off-screen due to injury but returned to face Willow Nightingale at All Out. Issues between Statlander and Hathaway began after their loss at All In, when Tomohiro Ishii pinned Hathaway, marking the beginning of their split.
Statlander has been with AEW since 2019, originally part of Best Friends before evolving into a more hard-hitting persona.
