Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Mickie James and Roman Reigns.
• John Cena’s romantic relationships with his WWE colleagues have often been a topic of discussion among fans. One such relationship was with the iconic Mickie James, who recently opened up about why their on-screen romance felt uncomfortable.
Mickie James, who is now married to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, was involved with Cena from 2007 to 2008. Although their real-life relationship was brought into a WWE storyline, the angle didn’t unfold as expected and was eventually dropped.
During a recent appearance on Ring The Belle, James shared her thoughts on the situation, expressing uncertainty about the storyline’s direction. She explained that WWE decided to incorporate their real-life romance into the show since they were ‘talking’ at the time. However, she admitted that she and Cena lacked on-screen chemistry, which made the situation uncomfortable for her.
“Where was that supposed to go? I don’t really know. I don’t really know where that was supposed to go or where it wasn’t supposed to go. But, I think, obviously, like we were talking or whatever at the time anyway so, I feel like it was one of those things.
I mean, that was a well-known thing, right? That was one of those things of like, ‘Hey, we’ll try this on air. I don’t know that we actually had any on-camera chemistry. You know, when I watched back, I go like, ‘Emm…’. You don’t feel it? I didn’t, yeah. It felt uncomfortable. It felt like it came off; I don’t know that it came off on camera as natural.”
