WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross once dated Missy Hyatt. Hyatt has now shared why their relationship ended.

In an interview on Rene Dupree’s Café de René podcast, Hyatt opened up about her relationship with Good Ol’ JR. She mentioned that she had always had a crush on him since they first met in 1986, even though he was then dating someone who later became his wife.

Following JR’s wife’s death in 2017, Hyatt contacted Ross to express her sympathies. Around two years later, he invited her to be a guest on his podcast, which led to them talking frequently. This eventually developed into a romantic relationship, and they dated for a couple of years.

Hyatt recounted:

“I’ve known him forever since ’86, and I’ve always had a crush on him. And we worked together in WCW and stuff. But he had a girlfriend, and then he married her, Jan, who I loved, who was a wonderful lady. And then I called him after she passed away and, you know, gave him my condolences and stuff, and then about two years after that, he called me and said, ‘Hey, you want to do my podcast?’

And we started talking and talking and talking, and then every day we talk and talk and talk and talk and then he finally invited me to Oklahoma, and I went to Oklahoma, and that was it. We dated for a couple of years.”

The relationship became challenging because they had different aspirations. Hyatt wanted to get married again, while Ross did not share the same interest. She felt hurt when he hired a professional designer for his new condo instead of involving her in the decisions. Hyatt’s desire to find a life partner and get married was a key factor in their breakup.

She explained:

“But it was hard, you know. When he moved to Jacksonville and bought a condo on the beach, I was with him and helped him pick it out and stuff. And I was telling him, ‘Well, we gotta get rid of the popcorn ceiling. We gotta do this and gotta do that.’ You know, I thought I was gonna get to redo it. Well, he got the lady that did the stadium for the Jaguars or whatever to do it and paid her like 350/hour to, you know, be the designer, and that hurt my feelings.

And he didn’t really want what I wanted because I wanna get married again. I don’t know why, but I do. I’m still young. I wanna find my life partner, who I found luckily by accident.”

Jim Ross’s wife, Jan Ross, tragically passed away on March 22, 2017, after a fatal accident. She was riding her Vespa scooter near their home in Norman, Oklahoma, when a car driven by a 17-year-old hit her from behind. The impact caused severe head injuries, and Jan was placed on life support at the hospital, but she sadly passed away two days later.
