Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon.
• Brock Lesnar has been removed from the WWE 2K Supercard mobile game following his involvement in a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis.
Grant alleges she was $exually assaulted during her employment at WWE Headquarters and claims McMahon instructed her to provide $exual favors to Lesnar to secure his contract renewal.
As a result, Lesnar was replaced in the Men’s 2024 Royal Rumble match, and PWInsider reports that 2K games and other licensees will downplay his presence.
There’s uncertainty about Lesnar’s future on WWE TV, with some speculating that this incident might mark the end of his appearances in the company.
• The Wall Street Journal reports that prosecutors in New York are investigating $exual assault and $ex trafficking allegations against Vince McMahon.
Last summer, a search warrant was executed for McMahon’s phone, and he was subpoenaed regarding allegations including r@pe, $ex trafficking, $exual assault, commercial $ex transactions, harassment, or discrimination.
The grand jury subpoena mentions Grant and at least four other women who settled with McMahon over $exual misconduct, and these women have been interviewed by prosecutors.
Here’s what WSJ reported:
“The other women named in the grand jury subpoena include a WWE contractor whom McMahon allegedly sent unsolicited nude photos and $exually harassed; a former WWE wrestler who said McMahon coerced her into giving him oral $ex; former WWE referee Rita Chatterton, who publicly accused McMahon of raping her; a spa manager who said McMahon assaulted her at a Southern California resort; and a former WWE employee who alleged the head of talent relations at the company at the time, John Laurinaitis, demoted her after she broke off an affair with him.”
