• Mr. Iguana Already Has Backstage Heat In WWE
AAA wrestler Mr. Iguana recently revealed that WWE plans to move him directly to its main roster, skipping the usual NXT route. Speaking with Línea Directa TV, the popular luchador said WWE officials were impressed with his success in merchandise sales and fan popularity. “They told me, you’re not going through NXT — you’re heading straight to the main roster,” Mr. Iguana said. “We need you here because your shirt is the top seller in WWE, and you’re also the fastest-rising star when it comes to action figures and trading cards.”
The update comes shortly after Mr. Iguana appeared on WWE television. A promo video for his character aired during Monday Night RAW this week. Just days earlier, he took part in the WWE Worlds Collide event. There, he teamed with Octagón Jr. and Aero Star to defeat Latino World Order (Dragon Lee and Cruz Del Toro) and Lince Dorado.
Even with a main roster opportunity ahead, Mr. Iguana made it clear that his focus isn’t on winning titles. He wants to stay true to the fun-loving personality that brought him this far and continue connecting with younger fans.
“Entering the ring, being up there doing what I have done for 16 years since I started in Culiacán, I felt good,” he said. “I got up there to have fun and represent my city. The United States received me like a ring on a finger, I have nothing to change in my character, I will never change.”

According to Fightful Select, Kiana James (who has been absent from WWE programming for almost a year) was brought in to Lexington, Kentucky and is backstage at tonight’s SmackDown. As previously reported by PWInsider, Hikuleo (half-brother of Tama Tonga) is expected to make his official WWE debut on tonight’s show.
