• MVP Says Recently Released Wrestler Worked For Free To Get A WWE Developmental Contract

“The One Man Band” Heath Slater was one of the long-time employees WWE released last Wednesday. Heath Slater started working with WWE in 2006, before appearing on the first season of NXT in 2010.

Although Slater was over with the fans at one point, he could never break through the lower mid-card spot.

WWE Veteran MVP recently shared a very interested story about how Slater started in the WWE. Slater joined Deep South TV and worked there for free, so that he could earn a developmental contract:

“I was in WWE developmental with Heath. He came in for Deep South TV for FREE. He literally WORKED his way into a developmental contract. He told me he couldn’t cut promos. We talked about it. I told him he had a HUGE personality! Bring that to the mic. PRACTICE! He did! OH BABY!”

Slater himself approved the story.
