Below are some top WWE & IMPACT Wrestling news stories of the day:

• Matt Riddle was released by WWE last week as part of the cuts the company was making following its merger with UFC earlier this month.

According to the Wrestling Observer, there has been interest in signing him from multiple wrestling and MMA promotions.

Most pro wrestling companies of any size immediately expressed interest in the former WWE United States Champion, and in MMA, both Professional Fighters League and Bare Knuckle Fighting had expressed interest due to his name value from WWE and the fact he was a decent MMA fighter.

IMPACT Wrestling is also interested in signing Riddle, according to PCO.

Riddle will likely be able to sign with any other promotion after three months due to WWE’s non-compete clause being in effect right now.

• The Wrestling Observer reports that Mustafa Ali wasn’t in the original list of talents WWE planned to release. The decision to let him go was made late.

• Gunther will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Tommaso Ciampa at the Fastlane premium live event. They will have a contract signing to make this match official on Monday’s RAW.

WWE has officially announced the following matches for Fastlane so far:

– John Cena & LA Knight vs. The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa)

Last Man Standing Match For The World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Triple Threat Match For The WWE Women’s Championship: IYO SKY (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
