– Former WWE United States Champion Robert Roode was known as Bobby Roode during his early days in WWE and also before joining the company.
When he joined the main roster, WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon renamed him to Robert Roode.
According to Fightful Select, Robert Roode recently went from being listed as “Robert” Roode to “Bobby” Roode internally. It’s unknown why the change was made, but it could be because WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has been giving wrestlers their old names back since gaining control of creative last year.
Roode recently became a Producer for WWE as he can’t wrestle due to his neck injury. He produced Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Sami Zayn vs. Mr. Money In The Bank Damian Priest on this week’s episode of RAW.
He was also seen standing on the stage with the rest of the roster on last week’s SmackDown, when they were paying tribute to Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk.
