Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day:

– The son of late WWF Veteran Brian Pillman, Brian Pillman Jr., left AEW a couple months ago after his 3-year deal with the company expired, and AEW President Tony Khan decided not to renew it.

He made his first appearance for WWE at the NXT No Mercy Premium Live Event in a vignette where he was sitting and watching television. While changing channels, the Cincinnati Bengals (his hometown’s NFL team) and WCW Saturday Night (a show his father competed on) were shown on the screen.

According to PWInsider, Brian Pillman Jr.  will be renamed to “Lexis King” when he makes his official WWE debut.

The name “Lexis King” was derived from the names of two of Pillman Jr.’s sisters. The first name “Lexis” is a reference to the name of his late sister Alexis Pillman. The last name “King” is a reference to another one of his sisters Skylar King.

UPDATE: On tonight’s episode of NXT, Brian Pillman Jr. said he lost his father when he was 4 and he doesn’t want to be known by his dead father’s name anymore.

– According to Xero News, WWE currently has plans to do both Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. The Rock in 2024.

They also reported that Roman will go into both matches as champion and walk out of both these matches still the champion.

One of these matches will take place at WrestleMania 40, while the other will take place at a later date.

They noted that this is the current direction, but it can change anytime. As we reported earlier, WWE heavily pushed Cody’s “Finish The Story” angle on this week’s RAW, when Michael Cole questioned Cody about failing to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.
