WWE Hall Of Famers Nikki Bella & Brie Bella were advertised to appear at RAW XXX (30th anniversary show) in January 2023, but they didn’t appear.
The Bella Twins had a falling out with WWE, because they went LIVE on Instagram and expressed their displeasure about how WWE didn’t acknowledge the women’s revolution during RAW XXX, especially wrestlers like Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) and Saraya (Paige).
Alundra Blayze was the only female legend that was shown during RAW XXX. After news came out that WWE canceled the Steel Cage Match between Becky Lynch and Bayley because The Bloodline’s segment went longer than expected, “#WWEWomenDeserveBetter” started trending on Twitter.
Nikki went LIVE on Instagram again to talk about this hashtag and revealed that WWE Officials told her they had nothing for The Bellas, despite advertising them.
Now, two years later, Nikki Bella returned to WWE programming on the RAW Netflix premiere. Nikki’s emotional return to WWE during the January 6 episode has sparked rumors of an in-ring comeback, but her recent remarks shed light on a deeper, personal journey with the company.
On her podcast, Nikki reflected on the challenges she and her sister Brie faced after their departure in 2023 and the healing process that brought them back to WWE.
Nikki candidly admitted to moments of tension and emotional outbursts during their rocky period with WWE, acknowledging her own role in the conflict. “As everyone knows, the one thing about family, whether it’s a business family or your actual family, there is always at some point a rocky road. That’s life. It happens and emotions happen,” she shared.
She elaborated on the growth she’s experienced since then, noting, “As I’ve grown over the past few years and continued to work on myself, I realized times where I’ve made outbursts out of emotions that I probably shouldn’t have done. There are also times where I can recognize that I felt hurt and wanted to be heard, but it probably wasn’t the right way to go about it.”
Returning to WWE, Nikki described the experience as transformative and uplifting. “I felt all these emotions because I felt at home, and I was so happy to be home,” she revealed. “To be so accepted and loved felt so incredible because things were rocky, and there is nothing better than when you have that moment of making up and knowing this bond is so strong. It’s like blood—we’re family and will always be connected.”
Nikki likened the feeling to attending a family reunion, explaining, “All is well, we’ve all made up, and I recognize that we are very fortunate to be part of such a great company. It felt so good to be back and to see how much this place has grown.”
Her appearance on RAW wasn’t just about nostalgia; WWE commentator Michael Cole emphasized her significant contributions to the Women’s Revolution, solidifying her legacy as a trailblazer.
