• Old School WCW Announcer Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WCW Announcer Scott Hudson celebrates his 55th birthday today.

Scott Hudson first became a professional wrestling commentator at the Dallas, Texas based GWF Global Wrestling Federation promotion during the early 90s.

Most of you will remember Hudson for doing commentary on some of World Championship Wrestling’s weekly TV shows from 1998 till its demise in 2001.

The last times we saw him, was in the World Wrestling Federation during the infamous Invasion storyline, when he and Arn Anderson did a commentary for an exclusive “WCW match” during the July 2, 2001 RAW IS WAR episode, and later in 2003 when he became a backstage interviewer for NWA Total Nonstop Action!.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTT HUDSON!

• NXT Wrestler Dominik Dijakovic Reacts To AEW’s Kenny Omega For Ripping NXT Wrestlers

During a recent interview with Dropkick Diskussions, AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega was asked about the Wednesday Night War between AEW & WWE’s NXT.

Below is what Omega said:

“You can call it a war if you want. To me, we’re in a completely different kind of business. What they’re doing is different from what we’re doing and it’s weird because it’s hard to say that you’re going to war with people that I call my friends and yet we are going to war.

Yet, when I sit back and look at the grand picture, it’s like I’m going to war with these dudes that if we were on the same show together you know, the same show with the same promotion — let’s pretend there are no wars. Let’s just pretend there are no promotions, let’s just pretend there’s one big promotion if they were on the same show as me they’d be in the dark match, they’d be in the opening match and I’m in the main event match.

You gonna call that a war? You wanna call that competition? Go ahead, I mean maybe that’s fun for you to do, that’s cool, but we’re on different planets and you’re gonna see that right away when you see 10,000 plus arenas sold out.

You’re gonna see smiles on fans’ faces and you’re gonna see real stars. Not developmental talent, but real stars there on your television sets every week.”
