Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Kane and Mace.
• The Undertaker recently discussed his experiences dressing up as his storyline half-brother, Kane, twice during his career. Speaking on his “Six Feet Under” podcast, the 2022 WWE Hall of Famer explained the challenges he faced while portraying “The Big Red Machine”.
The first time he took on Kane’s persona was in a match against Mankind, followed by a brawl with Triple H the next year. The Undertaker admitted he had doubts about convincingly playing Kane, mainly due to the noticeable weight difference between him and the man behind the actual Kane character, Glenn Jacobs.
Here’s what The Deadman said:
“I don’t know whose idea it was, but it was genius. It’s funny because you think you know these people all the time, but when you have to emulate them, their mannerisms, and everything, it becomes kind of pressure-filled to sell it without tipping anyone off.
When we did that, I think Kane was probably like 25 pounds heavier than I was, so I was like, ‘Oh, man, I’m going to look like anorexic Kane in this suit.’
But both times it came off without a hitch, nobody had a clue, and just one of those iconic moments.”

• In September 2023, Mace (Mason Madden) and Mansoor were released from WWE. Mace recalled a disturbing incident during WWE’s ThunderDome era, where a fan appeared on the virtual screens dressed as a KKK member. This happened in August 2020, during the Seth Rollins & Murphy v. Dominik & Rey Mysterio match. The offensive image was quickly removed, and WWE banned the fan involved.
Below are the photos:
Speaking with Fightful, Mason recounted the incident, explaining that while RETRIBUTION was preparing for a run-in during the match, a virtual screen displayed footage of a Ku Klux Klan rally. Madden described feeling uneasy and confused, unsure if the disturbing footage was part of the run-in or if he was being set up.
Here’s what he said:
“My favorite RETRIBUTION story is, so in the ThunderDome we used to do a lot of movie magic. RETRIBUTION hid in all sorts of places. So one of the places we hid was in the crowd amongst the TV screens. In one of the times we were going to do a run-in, someone had hacked one of the TV screens and there was a video of a Ku Klux Klan rally that was on the TV.
It was right in front of me and I was like spooked ‘cause I was like, ‘Are they coming? Are they here? Is that the run-in? Am I being set up right now?’ Not really a RETRIBUTION story, more of a Ku Klux Klan story.”
