On this day in 1990, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Superstars of Wrestling’.

This episode was pre-taped at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama and featured matches & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF Royal Rumble 1990’ PPV.

• Old School WWF Veteran Passed Away Last Night

We received word that Old School WWF Veteran Alexis Smirnoff (Real name: Michel Lamarche) passed away yesterday on January 5, 2019 at the age of 71 due to kidney failure.

Smirnoff wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from time to time in 1983, 1984, 1985 & 1986 and otherwise spent most of his career touring Japan & Canada, as well as working for Verne Gagne’s AWA and Jim Crockett Promotions.

We extend our condolences to his family and friends.
