On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 21, 2001, the World Wrestling Federation aired their annual ‘Royal Rumble’ event LIVE on PPV from the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This marks the 3rd and last time that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin officially won the Royal Rumble match, which is a record that still stands as of today.

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 21, 1996, the World Wrestling Federation aired their annual ‘Royal Rumble’ event LIVE on PPV from the Selland Arena in Fresno, California.
This was the second out of 2 Royal Rumble wins for “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, as well as the first time that the WWF World Title match main evented the PPV instead of the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 21, 1990, the World Wrestling Federation aired their annual ‘Royal Rumble’ event LIVE on PPV from the Orlando Arena in Orlando, Florida.
WWF World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan won this year’s Royal Rumble match, which was only possible because the rule for the Rumble winner to get a title shot at WrestleMania, wasn’t established till 1993.

Submission match: Ronnie Garvin defeated Greg Valentine
