On this day in Pro Wrestling history on December 10, 2000, the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘WWF Armageddon 2000’ LIVE on PPV from the Birmingham–Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

The once-in-a-lifetime main event match inside the unforgiving ‘Hell in a Cell’ structure featured some of the biggest & most famous Attitude Era names out there, when WWF World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle had to defend his Title against The Rock, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, The Undertaker & Rikishi.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Chris Benoit defeated Billy Gunn (c)

WWF Women’s Championship: Ivory (c) defeated Molly Holly and Trish Stratus

Hell in a Cell – WWF Championship: Kurt Angle (c) defeated Rikishi, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H and The Undertaker

• Old School Wrestling Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School Attitude Era Veteran “Mr. Águila” Essa Ríos (Real name: José Delgado Saldaña) turns 43 today.

Mr. Águila wrestled Taka Michinoku for the Light Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 14 in Boston in a losing effort, but won the championship 3 years later when he wrestled as Essa Ríos, by defeating Gillberg during an episode of WWF Sunday Night HEAT.

He has since returned to his home country of Mexico, where he had successful runs in CMLL and AAA.
