Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring The New Day and Bronson Reed.

• On Monday’s RAW, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods officially turned heel on Big E during a segment meant to celebrate The New Day’s decade-long success.

Woods and Kofi accused Big E of abandoning them, dismissing his explanation about recovering from a neck injury. Kofi claimed Big E chose himself over the group, and Woods told him to leave, rejecting his offer to be their manager.

The angle marked The New Day’s transition to a heel faction after months of speculation.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the storyline had been planned for months but was altered due to the firing of Odyssey Jones, who was initially set to replace Big E in the group:

“When Odyssey Jones came in, they were going to tease issues with them not getting along but it would end up with Kingston & Woods going heel by choosing Jones and having him publicly replace Big E. But then Jones got fired and the whole thing was put on hold.”
