• Original Plans For Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 35 Match Prior To Leukemia Announcement Revealed

There’s a rumor going on that the original WrestleMania 35 plan for Roman Reigns was for him to defend the Universal Championship against Dean Ambrose.

However, that’s not true.

WWE had two plans in mind for Reigns prior to his leukemia announcement:

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock for the Universal Championship: WWE officials wanted The Rock to return for a match against Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 35. Had The Rock returned, then the women won’t be main eventing this year and it would’ve been Reigns’ 5th straight WrestleMania main event.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the Universal Championship: A Shield triple threat match was the back-up plan for Reigns in case WWE couldn’t secure The Rock for a match at WrestleMania 35.

Reigns’ battle with leukemia changed everything and he’ll now face Drew McIntyre in a singles match. On the other hand, Rollins will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and Ambrose isn’t scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 35.
