• Old School WCW/WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran The Hurricane (Real name: Gregory Shane Helms) celebrates his 45th birthday today.

“Sugar” Shane Helms joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1999 and soon formed a boy band type of faction called “3 Count” with Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias.

When WCW was sold to Vince McMahon in march 2001, he was offered a contract with the World Wrestling Federation and debuted during the Invasion storyline in the summer of 2001, first under the ring name “Hollywood” Gregory Helms, but he soon adapted the new character of “The Hurricane”.

Hurricane stayed with the WWF/WWE until he was released in early 2010, but returned for one nigh as a surprise entrant in the 2018 Royal Rumble match.

He currently works there as a backstage producer, a job that he took in early 2019.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HURRICANE!

• Original SummerSlam 2019 Plans Open To Change Under New Management

Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff will officially begin their job as Executive Directors of RAW & SmackDown (respectively) starting from next week, after this Sunday’s Extreme Rules 2019 PPV.

With that being said, WrestleVotes is reporting that Heyman & Bischoff will be given the opportunity to start fresh angles and new storylines heading into SummerSlam 2019, which means they can change originally planned storylines for SummerSlam 2019 if they feel the need to.

Below is what WrestleVotes posted:

“Was told recently that anything WWE had planned for SummerSlam in advance was all subject to change once Bischoff & Heyman fully start their roles this upcoming week. Good on Vince & Co to allow a legitimate clean start. No forced agendas off the jump. That’s how it should be.”

No word yet on what matches WWE has planned for SummerSlam 2019, but The Undertaker vs. Drew McIntyre is a match that’s rumored to take place at the PPV.
