• Originally Planned PPV Will Now Be A WWE Live Event

As we noted before, Wrestling Observer reported that WWE cancelled Backlash 2019 PPV (which was scheduled to take place on June 16).

This was done because WWE will be doing a PPV in Saudi Arabia on June 7th and WWE officials didn’t want to do another PPV just 9 days after the major Saudi Arabia show.

In an update to this, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Backlash 2019 will now be a WWE Live Event instead of a PPV event:

“The San Diego pay-per-view which was Backlash for June 16th is now a house show. They didn’t want to do — I guess the idea is they didn’t want to do two pay-per-views in a row… two weekends in a row it would have been June 7th and the 16th so they moved the Backlash to the 23rd and they’re booking it in Tacoma on the 23rd and San Diego getting a house show.”
