CM Punk was fired from All Elite Wrestling earlier this week, as his actions backstage at AEW All In endangered the lives of innocent people and made the promotion’s President Tony Khan feel threatened.
It’s unknown if Punk wants to sign with another company, and when he’d be able to do it, but the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 (who has worked in WWE & TNA before) has made it clear that he will welcome Punk with open arms if he comes to the National Wrestling Alliance.
Speaking to SK Wrestling, EC3 said that the NWA locker room has a more professional atmosphere than the AEW locker room, so Punk would fit there.
“Obviously, CM Punk, Chicago ties with Billy Corgan so that would be a fantastic challenger. There is a lot of speculation and roundabout talking about the dealings with him and his previous employer, whatever.
What I do think about him is that he is dynamite in the ring and dynamite on the microphone. We can definitely draw a lot of intrigue and I’d be into it.
Throwing that out there, to have him come in, would be a game changer. Our locker room has a more professional atmosphere sometimes, so I don’t think the shenanigans and tomfoolery of the intertwining and dramatics would take place as much as people striving to be the best version of themselves and the best version of anybody as EC3 as the Worlds Heavyweight Champion.”
Earlier this year, Punk was reportedly interested in returning to WWE, but it’s unknown if he feels the same way following his AEW release.
