As part of today’s WWE releases after the merger with UFC to form TKO Group Holdings, over 100 employees were released.

No wrestlers were released. The most shocking release out of all these releases was that of Dana Warrior (Ultimate Warrior’s wife).

The divisions that were hit the hardest are WWE Network, Podcasting, Marketing, Graphic Design, Insights & Analytics, and Live Events.

Some divisions were absolutely ripped apart. The Insights & Analytics department had 20 employees and 17 of them were released.

The layoffs are now complete. WWE President Nick Khan sent an email asking all the WWE employees based out of Stamford, CT to report to the new WWE HQ this Tuesday for a staff meeting.

Below are some of the names that were released:

– Dana Warrior (former WWE Creative Team member, Warrior Award inductor, WWE’s community outreach department)

– Jamie Horowitz (Executive Vice President, Development and Digital)

– Catherine Newman (Executive Vice President, Head of Marketing)

– Amanda Bloom (WWE Director, Enterprise Master Data & Governance)

She wrote the following on LinkedIn about her departure:

“A day I’m not sure I thought would ever come: I am among those affected by WWE’s layoffs today, and am updating my profile to #opentowork.

I have been at WWE almost 8 years, more than twice as long as I’ve been at any other company, and by any measure my tenure has been an enormous success. Over that time I’ve had the opportunity to:

• Design and implement an enterprise data model for an organization with robust but extremely siloed data accumulated over several years

• Work with SMEs across the organization to create master records and map the siloed data to those records

• Partner with data technology and analytics to make master and mapped data available in the data warehouse for automated, scalable reporting

• Participate in the design and deployment of a custom-built master data management platform with multiple system integrations

• Redesign our content model to align with industry standards and facilitate intuitive search and navigation on our OTT platform

• Manage the migration of our content library metadata to Peacock in time for our debut there in 2021

• Work on redesigning our MDM using a COTS solution and instituting more stringent data validation rules

• Learn and use a plethora of new apps and programming languages

• Work with some of the most talented, collaborative people it has ever been my pleasure to know, some of whom are also now on the market and you should snap them up ASAP

Above all I can say that I fostered a data-centric mindset among people who had been trained to make do with subpar data, who now take pains to create, maintain and share data that meets the high standards we implemented. The best a data professional can hope for is that the level of data quality won’t decrease in their absence, and I am extremely optimistic in that regard.

Now I’m off to find my next challenge. Maybe you know where it is. #KevinandSamiforever”

– Andy Levine (WWE Vice President, International & Platform Strategy)

– Alexa Gotthardt (Manager, Digital Campaigns)

She wrote the following on LinkedIn about her departure:

“I was on the WWE / TKO list nobody wanted to be on today.

Even though I can’t stay, I’ve got some epic memories to carry me through. It wasn’t just rolling out and optimizing partners’ digital campaigns – I got to enjoy so many more laughs and learnings with the team. From working with some of the best talent around, to writing some of the funniest social media copy we’ll ever think of, being able to help at productions, appearances or even to wrangling a French Bulldog – it’s been a very memorable time!

Please let me know if you happen to hear of an opening anywhere; I pride myself on being creative yet organized and am looking forward to continuing my career in a similar role.

Thank you for your support.”

– Kimberly Kirkegard (Brand Director)

– Saverio Brighina (Affiliate Marketing Manager)
