• Why WWE Canceled Next Week’s NXT TV Taping In Tampa

WWE canceled its ‘NXT Live on The CW’ TV-taping for May 27th at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. About 1,700 tickets had already been given out for the show.

This cancellation is surprising. It was part of a big Memorial Day weekend in Tampa. Other events, like Saturday Night’s Main Event, NXT Battleground on May 25, and Monday Night RAW on Memorial Day, are still happening. Saturday Night’s Main Event and RAW are almost sold out. Battleground has already sold over 6,000 tickets.

Ticketmaster shared a notice about the NXT cancellation: “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14–21 days.” Ticketmaster also posted, “If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.”

WrestleTix confirmed the news. They stated, “WWE’s NXT Live on the CW event, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, has been canceled. At the time of cancellation, approximately 1,700 tickets had been distributed.”

PWInsider reported the following regarding why WWE canceled the taping in Tampa:

“Concerns over low ticket sales and the potential impact on the show’s broadcast atmosphere. The show would come across stronger in terms of atmosphere on television from the WWE Performance Center.”
