Below are some top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.

• Ricky Starks’ absence from AEW programming since late March has sparked fan speculation about his future, with some hoping he might leave and join WWE.

On the March 30th episode of AEW Collision, Starks appeared to get injured during a tag team title tournament match where he and Big Bill faced Top Flight. That was his last AEW appearance, and his current absence remains unexplained.

While he’s been away, Starks has expressed uncertainty about his future with AEW, fueling fan debates about whether he should move to WWE.

Despite these rumors, Fightful Select has reported that Starks isn’t leaving All Elite Wrestling anytime soon. He is still under contract, with no imminent expiration, and there’s no credible information to suggest any contact with WWE.

Although rumors have circulated, there’s no indication that a switch to WWE is on the horizon.

• TBS Women’s Champion & NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone gets a lot of heat on social media these days.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler in WWE) has an idea for Mercedes.

He wants AEW to take Mone off TV for a while, in order to generate more interest in her character when she returns.

Here’s what Nemeth said on Busted Open Radio:

“Even if you cheered for them 9.5 out of 10, when [wrestlers] come back and make that return, catch you off guard, or you’re excited about the return, it becomes a 10 out of 10. That really helps the product stay fresh for everybody.”
