WWE has one of its biggest markets in India, and they’ve called back Jinder Mahal to help them in expanding their success there.

In March this year, WWE and Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) announced a five-year extension. As part of the deal, SPN will get rights to RAW, SmackDown and NXT. The deal also includes all pay-per-view events and rights to WWE Network content which will be available on SonyLIV, the OTT platform for SPN.

The India TV deal is quite significant for WWE, as they consider it one of the factors in the stock increase they experienced in March.

“The Modern Day Maharaja” turned babyface last week on RAW, and he’s expected to headline WWE shows in India as a good guy when they head there.

Expect more of Mahal on WWE programming from now onwards.

For those who don’t know, WWE’s TV shows draw 10 times more viewership in India than they do in US every week.
