• Reason Behind WWE Making A Big Change To WrestleMania 35 Weekend
WWE has made a big change to WrestleMania 35 weekend. Instead of Saturday night, the NXT TakeOver event will now take place on Friday and the Hall of Fame ceremony will be shifted to Saturday.
So this is what the WrestleMania 35 weekend looks now:
Friday (April 5): NXT TakeOver: New York
Saturday (April 6): WWE Hall Of Fame 2019
Sunday (April 7): WrestleMania 35
Fans are speculating that WWE made this decision in order to ensure that their developmental brand, NXT, doesn’t have to compete with New Japan Pro Wrestling & Ring Of Honor’s sold-out G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden on April 6, but that’s not the case.
According to the Wrestling Observer, many fans who come in for WrestleMania weekend only attend the NXT TakeOver event and WrestleMania itself, but not the Hall of Fame ceremony. So these fans fly in on Saturday, while the Hall of Fame is on Friday.
So WWE made this change to help increase the attendance for the Hall Of Fame ceremony as fans will now have to fly in on or before Friday if they want to attend the NXT TakeOver show and then they’ll still be in town the next night for the Hall of Fame (which will definitely increase the chances of some fans changing their mind and attending the ceremony).
