The original plan was to induct a popular wrestling legend from the Bay Arena, the place where the WWE Hall of Fame 2015 will take place. Pat Patterson was behind WWE to induct “The Crippler” Ray Stevens into the WWE Hall of Fame 2015 because of his ties in the Bay Area and the WWE official agreed on this and this was almost a done deal.

But WWE has changed its mind now and they are not going forward with the idea of inducting Ray Stevens into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015. The reason for this plan getting cancelled is that Stevens passed away in 1996 and WWE doesn’t want to induct another deceased wrestler in this year’s class, with the other being “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Ray Stevens was known for his drawing ability despite being a heel who drew a lot of heat during his matches. He had a brief stint in the WWF where he was managed by “Classy” Freddie Blassie and also did color commentary alongside Vince McMahon in 1984.
