Tegan Nox, also known on the independent scene as Nixon Newell, has opened up about her career journey, from signing with WWE to her current goals in pro wrestling. The Welsh wrestler joined WWE in 2017 and made appearances in both NXT and NXT UK. She eventually moved up to the main roster in July 2021, teaming with Shotzi in a tag match against Natalya and Tamina. Over her WWE tenure, she also competed in multiple Women’s Royal Rumble matches.

However, her time in WWE was repeatedly interrupted by serious knee injuries. These setbacks led to her first release from the company in 2021. Although she was brought back in December 2022, Nox was used infrequently before being released again in November 2024.

Speaking about her struggles after leaving WWE, she said life was difficult following the release.

Since then, Newell has returned to wrestling under her original ring name and is active on the independent circuit. In a recent interview with ‘Wrestling in the Middle’, she expressed interest in joining AEW and revisiting past rivalries.

“I would love to go there,” she said. “There’s so many people there that I want to wrestle, like I really want to tangle with Toni Storm again. I wrestled Toni, yes, many years on the indies. So I’d like to, you know, revisit that.”

Despite her enthusiasm, she admitted that AEW may not currently be interested. “As far as I know, I don’t think there’s an interest from them, which is a shame. But I would love to go there.”

Newell also shared that wrestling in TNA is something she hopes to accomplish. When asked about her inspirations, she named Molly Holly, Beth Phoenix, and Toni Storm as wrestlers who helped shape her passion for the sport.
