• Hulk Hogan & The Rock Comment On The Anniversary Of Their WrestleMania Match

As we noted before, yesterday marked the 16 year anniversary of the Hulk Hogan – The Rock “Icon vs. Icon” match from WrestleMania X8. “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan shared a pic that we posted on our Facebook page and shared his thoughts on the anniversary.

The Rock recalled this thoughts when Vince McMahon pitched the idea for this match and posted the following on Instagram:

Goosebumps. 16yrs ago today, at WRESTLEMANIA, I had the honor of making history and breaking records with this man: The Immortal @HulkHogan. About a year prior to this match, Vince McMahon came to me and asked how I felt about bringing Hogan back to the @wwe and creating the main event at WrestleMania. I loved the idea and immediately saw the massive business opportunity for us but more importantly, giving the fans a once in a lifetime match to enjoy. I told Vince we should promote the match, ICON vs ICON and the winner would go down as the greatest of all time. Hogan did “the honors” (me winning) that night and passed the torch to me, as Andre the Giant had done for him 15yrs earlier at WrestleMania III. To this day, this crowd of 65,000 strong was the most electric and on fire I’ve ever had the privilege of performing in front of. They were ready. So were we. #ChildhoodHero #IconVsIcon #GreatestOfAllTime #WrestleMania18

• Rey Mysterio Joins Fan-Funded Wrestling Company

Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio has joined a fan-funded wrestling company named Aro Lucha, who first season will be taped in Nashville in the coming months.

Below is what Mysterio had to say about this:

“I think what we are doing with Aro Lucha being fan-owned is revolutionary. We are giving the fans something they have never had before, a voice and a chance to get in on the action.”

Aro Lucha’s Co-Founder and CEO Jason Brown had the following to say about this:

“This gives fans a chance to get in on the action, but more so than that it really gives them a voice. Especially at a company like ours, fans are so passionate. They critique every storyline, every character. Well we’re able now to actually listen to them.”
