Over the past decade, WWE’s women’s division has navigated numerous challenges, evolving from the Divas era to a point where they now receive equal treatment to the men.

A significant milestone was achieved with the introduction of the Women’s United States Title, marking the first secondary title for the women on the main roster.

Rhea Ripley has been a prominent figure in this transformation, establishing herself as one of WWE’s top stars.

In an interview on Jazzys World TV, Mami talked about the biggest obstacle WWE’s women had to face:

“Being taken for granted, I think. The women in WWE, we’ve come a very, very long way. We’ve overcome a lot of obstacles that were put in the way, and it’s been growing each and every year.

I think that was the biggest obstacle just getting people to sort of take us seriously. For the longest time, people joked about us being the toilet break, which is just plain disrespectful, especially when the women go out there and we leave everything that we have out in the ring and we go just as hard as the men do so don’t treat us with that disrespect.

We’re making people realize that we can go just as hard as the men and if not harder.”

Speaking of Rhea, she sustained a fractured right orbital socket recently. The injury is believed to have occurred during a headbutt spot on the October 21st episode o RAW.

Due to this injury, WWE had to adjust their Crown Jewel plans, where Ripley was originally set to face Raquel Rodriguez in a singles match.

According to PWInsider, there is still no set timeline for Ripley’s return. However, WWE is hopeful that the injury won’t be as severe as initially expected, and Ripley is still in line for a significant role at WrestleMania 41.

The company is remaining optimistic that she’ll be cleared in time for the biggest show of 2025.
