• Old School WCW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WCW/TNA Veteran AJ Styles (Real name: Allen Jones) celebrates his 42nd birthday today.

AJ Styles joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in early 2001, where he was put in a Tag Team with Air Paris, but when the company was sold to Vince McMahon in March neither one of them had their contracts picked up by the World Wrestling Federation.

Styles did have quite a few try-out matches, dark matches and even a minor televised match (on Jakked/Metal) for the WWF in 2001 & 2002, but eventually ended up signing with Jeff Jarrett’s new NWA-TNA promotion, where he made a name for himself by winning the X-Division Championship, as well as the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, among other titles.

He stayed with Total Nonstop Action! for almost 12 years until early 2014, before he left to wrestle on the indies and eventually ended up with the WWE in January 2016.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AJ STYLES!

• Ric Flair Reveals How Long He Could Live After Last Month’s Heart Surgery

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, two time WWE Hall of Famer “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair (age 70) talked about getting a heart surgery last month, who came to check on him & more.

Below is what Flair said:

“This is the fourth time I’ve been in, in seven weeks. The other ones I was just able to lay low and go in for procedures. They finally figured out what type of pacemaker to put on me, which I have found out just how important the operation of your heart is, you can’t breath if you’re hearts not working. I stayed [in the hospital] for 48 hours just to make sure. I feel great, the prognosis is that I could live to be 95.

I looked up and there was Hulk [Hogan] and Charles Barkley. And they take the time—all the guys that came—they take the time to take pictures and sign autographs. Their as gracious to the staff and doctors.

The McMahon’s have been great, Stephanie and Triple H. The first time I was in the hospital, Vince facetimed me to see how I was doing. Yeah, they check on me, you know their schedule is brutal.”
