Word is that WWE officials are very impressed with Kevin Owens’ work since his main roster debut last year. Word is that Owens is scheduled to get a main event push before WrestleMania 33. If that’s indeed the plan, then expect Owens to feud with Seth Rollins or Finn Balor for the Universal Championship.
Owens recently lost his feud to Sami Zayn at Battleground 2016. Speaking of Owens, WWE is teasing a feud between the team of Jericho/Owens & Enzo/Big Cass. Below is the teaser that WWE posted for tonight’s Raw:
“Chris Jericho’s pal Jimmin Marvinluder might not actually be a real person, but Kevin Owens certainly seems to have struck up an alliance with the first Undisputed Champion based on their conversation Monday night. Now that “The Best in the World at What He Does” has acquired some backup against Enzo Amore & Big Cass, how will “The Realest Guys in the Room” respond? Considering Jericho’s decorated history as a tag team competitor, Enzo & Big Cass might have their hands full against these haters.”
5. WWE Tag Team Championship Match Set For SummerSlam 2016
WWE announced that The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods will defend their WWE Tag Team Titles against Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Below is what WWE posted:
“Intent on avenging their injured partner Big E, The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods have agreed to defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson at SummerSlam, WWE.com has confirmed. Gallows & Anderson, whose ambush of The New Day on the Aug. 1 edition of Raw left Big E out of action and suffering from a contusion, said they would face Kingston & Woods on one condition: that the champions put their titles on the line.
With no other means of getting their hands on Big E’s assailants, Kingston & Woods have conceded to the challengers’ terms.”
