• Ric Flair Unhappy With WrestleMania 39 Decision

WWE had discussed doing Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39 – Night 1.

However, that spot eventually went to The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, and Charlotte vs. Rhea ended up being the co-main event of Night 1.

Ric Flair wasn’t happy about this and said the following on his podcast:

“We’re talking about what I think should personally happen in the promotion. There’s no way that Sami & KO and The Usos would go on after Ashley (Charlotte Flair) and Rhea, no way. Only in the WWE.”

When Ric’s son-in-law and podcast co-host Conrad Thompson said The Bloodline story was more important, Ric didn’t care and said the Royal Rumble winner (Rhea Ripley) should’ve main evented.

Below is what The Nature Boy said:

“That’s not the point. We’re talking about a single Championship from a girl that won the Royal Rumble. Why are we breaking tradition just for one [night], for what? Why are we breaking tradition for one night?”

Ripley ended up defeating The Queen to capture the SmackDown Women’s Title, while Zayn & Owens put away Jimmy & Jey Uso to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
