AEW Tag Team The Gunns have been using The Road Dogg’s ‘Shake Rattle & Roll’ punches in their AEW matches, and on a recent episode of his weekly podcast, the famous D-Generation X member expressed surprise at the idea, but suggested they should make it their own.

Here’s what the 2019 WWE Hall of Famer had to say:

“You know what [Austin Gunn] needs to do then, just make it his own. And find out what is smooth and what is not rickety, you know what I mean? I think there is something to that. I think he should have been establishing it all along and making minor tweaks as he went.”

The Road Dogg then also spoke about The Gunns doing the DX ‘Suck It’ gesture:

“Why not? Not like they are stealing something. Their dad was in the god-darn thing. Not like the Bullet Club, you know what I mean, whoever. I’m not throwing shade at them, everybody’s done suck it.”

Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn are the sons of former D-Generation X member Billy Gunn, who was The Road Dogg’s long-time Tag Team partner as one half of The New Age Outlaws.

So far in their careers, Austin & Colten have held the AEW World Tag Team Championship on one occasion. Right now, they are a part of the Bullet Club Gold stable, along with Jay White and Juice Robinson.

Road Dogg was let go from his non-wrestling WWE positions in January 2022, but after Vince McMahon retired in July 2022, Dogg’s D-Generation X buddy Triple H brought him back in August and gave him Jeff Jarrett’s job as ‘Senior Vice President of Live Events’.
