Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving CM Punk.

• On the SI Media podcast, Roman Reigns talked about CM Punk joining his OG Bloodline team for this Saturday’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024.

Here’s what The OTC said:

“I’m very blessed and very fortunate and grateful to be able to share the ring and have all our family in there together. It’s pretty neat, and then you know to add some of the personalities that we have added. CM Punk, Sami Zayn, even Paul. These are outside figures who are working in some way closer than others.

I look at Paul like chosen family. Sami’s one of those guys that just slowly but surely endeared himself in. And then Punk is like this crazy. How did this even happen? Who are you here with? What I mean, like, checking the guest list… hold on, how did you get in here?’”

• CM Punk and Sami Zayn will be on the same team this Saturday at Survivor Series, when the OG Bloodline takes on the new Bloodline in the WarGames match.

On WWE Playback, Zayn watched last year’s Men’s WarGames match, which featured CM Punk returning during the post-match celebration.

Zayn recalled that moment and talked about his issues with Punk:

“I think there was still some weird underlying stuff with Punk and I, which, you know… I think it’s pretty well documented that he’s an interesting character, who’s had his ups and downs with most people, both in the ring and backstage at various points, if you’ve known him a long enough time.

So I think there was just some unresolved stuff between he and I, and we hadn’t spoken in how many years at this time, so seeing him back at first was like, ‘Huh? Okay.’

But we eventually ended up talking on whatever issues that were out, and it is what it is. It kinda doesn’t matter what I think. If you look at those people, they’re all jumping out of their seats and that’s all that really matters.”
