On the latest episode of his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle watched the July 4th 2005 episode of RAW, which featured John Cena.

Angle had the following to say about the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion:

“John Cena, he was maybe 2 or 3 years in the business by this time, and here he is on top.

I mean, this kid picked it up very quickly, and he had arguably the best career in WWE history.

He did win 16 World Heavyweight Titles in WWE specifically. No one’s ever done that.”

Angle then said that he believes current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will break Cena’s record of 16 World Titles in WWE if he stays in the company and doesn’t go to Hollywood:

“He’s going to break the record. If he doesn’t skip and go to Hollywood and become a movie star, which I think he’s going to do.”

The Tribal Chief is currently a 6-time World Champion in WWE, with his ongoing title reign currently at 1,057 days.

Reigns’ latest Undisputed Championship defense took place on July 22nd, at a WWE Live Event in Mexico, where he defeated WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

His first televised title defense since WrestleMania 39 will take place at SummerSlam 2023, where he will face Jey Uso in a “Tribal Combat” match. The Tribal Chief spot will also be on the line in this match.
