Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, including the return of Ronda Rousey:

• Ronda Rousey announced her retirement on Social Media after her loss to Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at WWE SummerSlam 2023.

However, her retirement didn’t last long as she competed in a match on the indy scene last night.

At the Lucha VaVOOM event at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles, California, Rousey teamed up with longtime friend, current AEW wrestler Marina Shafir, to defeat the team of Taya Valkyrie and Brian Kendrick.

Rousey made Kendrick tap out to pick up the win for her team. The UFC Hall of Famer posted the following about this match:

“@luchavavoom was honestly the best Lucha/burlesque hybrid show I’ve ever had the pleasure of jumping into unannounced. Anyone who doubted me and @marinashafir could make magic in a ring is an idiot – thank you @thetayavalkyrie and @mr.briankendrick for being down to get down with us 🙏🏼❤️🤼”

You can watch the match below:

• According to the Wrestling Observer, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is currently set to miss Survivor Series 2023.

This comes as a shock to many, as Survivor Series is a Big 4 pay-per-view / premium live event, and Roman works all of WWE’s big shows.

As of this writing, Reigns’ next match after Crown Jewel will be at Royal Rumble 2024.

The Tribal Chief will appear on tonight’s SmackDown on FS1, where he’ll have a contract signing segment with LA Knight, to make their Undisputed Title match at Crown Jewel official.
