Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Ronda Rousey, CM Punk and Johnny Gargano.

• Ronda Rousey made her debut in ROH Wrestling recently, as she teamed up with her friend Marina Shafir to defeat ROH Women’s World Champion Athena & Billie Starkz in a tag team match.

PWInsider provided the following update on Rousey’s future in pro-wrestling:

“In speaking to sources close to Rousey, we are told there are no current talks with the promotion, nor is Rousey looking to pro wrestling for her short-term future.”

Rousey’s last match in WWE took place at SummerSlam 2023, where she lost to Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match.

• CM Punk is a big fan of Bret Hart and used to pay tributes to The Hitman all the time during his matches in AEW.

Punk paid tribute to The Hitman once again, as he began his WWE return promo on this week’s RAW by saying that “hell froze over”, which is the same line Bret used during his RAW return promo in 2010.

You can watch it below:

• In the main event of this week’s NXT, Wes Lee defeated Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed and Cameron Grimes in a Fatal 4-Way match to earn a North American Championship match against Dominik Mysterio at NXT Deadline.

After this match, Gargano holds the record for having the most number of matches on NXT TV. Below is what he tweeted:

“This will be my record setting 105th NXT TV match. The most in NXT History. Pretty wild.”
